Medical Education Commission Entrance Exam : Everything to Know

Medical Education Commission Entrance Exam (MECEE) is a common entrance examination held both within and outside of Nepal for candidates interested in enrolling in any health-related institutions, whether undergraduate, postgraduate, fellowship or other high-level training programs.

This national level entrance examination is administered by the Government of Nepal Medical Education Commission, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur to regulate and maintain the quality of the medical education system in Nepal. The examinations for different levels are conducted separately.

For international education purposes, you only need to pass the examination to apply for the No Objection Certificate (NOC). It has no other significance for applying to your education abroad.

The examination includes all academic institutions offering medical/health professional courses, allowing students to avoid confusion caused by multiple entrance examinations for the same academic programs and levels. It contains 200 objective questions that can be performed using technology-driven evaluation systems with less human intervention. A computer matching system is used to select candidates based on merit from among their options. The passing score in the entrance examination is also required for MEC to issue eligibility certificates for pursuing health courses abroad.

If you are interested to apply for health courses abroad then please be informed that Medical Education Commission, Sanothmi, Bhaktapur has recently published a notice regarding the Medical Education Common Entrance Examination for Bachelor Level Programs (MECEE-BL 2022) for admission in the following programs:

  1. MBBS
  2. BDS
  3. BSc Nursing, BASLP, B Perfusion Technology
  4. BAMS, BNS, BSc MLT, BSc MIT, B Pharm, B Optometry, BPT
  5. BPH
